Bingham Avenue

As part of the regeneration scheme in the Duddingston area, Edinburgh Council committed to deliver 20,000 new 21st century homes within a decade. The Bingham Avenue development came to fruition offering energy efficient and affordable homes to a highly populated area. The area had lay as waste ground for many years after Lismore Primary School was demolished in 2011. The council had to work to mitigate building height concerns all whilst maximising the availability of amenity spaces and include green space around the development. After a change of spec and material, Procladd were contracted to deliver this project with a very quick turnaround following a contractor drop out and required a short lead time for any material used. The decision was made to install an aluminium roof due to its low maintenance and pleasing aesthetic; the Prefa P10 Dark Grey Aluminium met the councils desire for a modern build. As a Prefa approved installer following completion of all manufacturer training, specialists were able to bend metals to cover the roof and achieve the steep pitch. Warm Roof insulation was used to boost the buildings efficiency.
