Case Study: Riverbank Community Campus
Procladd were appointed to deliver the roofing and cladding works for the new Riverbank Community Campus in Coatbridge — a major public investment by North Lanarkshire Council designed to bring education and community facilities together within a single modern hub.
Constructed by Morgan Sindall Construction and designed by NORR Architects, the campus forms a key part of the wider regeneration of the area, delivering contemporary, flexible learning and community spaces that serve pupils, staff and the wider public.
Our Scope: Sheeting & Cladding for a Modern Public Building
Procladd acted as roofing and cladding contractor, delivering high‑quality external envelope works to a prominent, architecturally driven building.
Our scope focused on:
- Installation of the rainscreen cladding systems across the campus
- Delivery of a robust, weather‑tight external envelope
- Achieving a consistent architectural finish across a large footprint
The cladding design plays a vital role in defining the visual identity of the campus, combining durability with a modern civic appearance appropriate for a public‑facing education facility.
Design Coordination & Interface Management
The Riverbank Community Campus demanded a well‑considered approach to sequencing and coordination, with multiple elevations, transitions and interfaces forming part of the external envelope.
Procladd worked closely with Morgan Sindall and NORR Architects to:
- Coordinate cladding layouts with the structural frame
- Ensure accurate setting‑out across long elevations
- Manage interfaces with windows, doors and other façade elements
- Maintain design intent while achieving buildability and programme efficiency
Early collaboration helped ensure quality was maintained while progressing works in line with programme requirements.
Delivery on a Live, Multi‑Trade Environment
As with many modern education projects, the campus build required careful control of access, logistics and sequencing to allow multiple trades to operate safely and efficiently.
Key delivery considerations included:
- Coordinating cladding installation around adjacent trades
- Managing material deliveries to suit site constraints
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship across visible elevations
- Ensuring consistent quality across phased areas of work
Procladd’s site management team worked proactively to maintain momentum and ensure works were completed safely and efficiently.
Quality, Performance & Visual Impact
Quality control was fundamental throughout the project. Regular inspections and clear communication between site teams ensured that installation standards were maintained across all elevations.
The completed cladding provides:
- A durable and low‑maintenance external envelope
- Strong weather protection suitable for long‑term public use
- A clean, contemporary finish aligned with the architect’s vision
- A cohesive appearance across the campus footprint
Supporting Community‑Focused Infrastructure
The Riverbank Community Campus represents a significant investment in local education and community facilities. Procladd’s contribution supports a building designed to serve future generations, delivering both functional performance and architectural quality.
Successfully delivering the cladding and roofing works on this project reinforces Procladd’s experience within the public‑sector and education markets, and our ability to collaborate effectively with leading contractors and design teams to deliver high‑profile community assets.
